We have a “gathering spot” at the Sandpiper where our guests are welcome to spend “indoor” time with family and friends. The common area is approximately 24 x 18 feet and houses a ping pong table, fuse ball table, a large chess table and space for playing other board games. The Gathering SpotThere is also an multiple exercise machine for guests over 12 years old. Our popular "take-one and leave-one" library is located in the gathering spot along with our extensive collection of yesterday’s videos for rent. We have a small kitchenette area with microwave and coffee maker and the room is equipped with folding tables and chairs to accommodate seating for up to 30 people. Being adjacent to the laundry room provides easy access to a water supply and washroom. 2010 was the first year it was in operation Let's Play Pingpongand available and we couldn’t believe how popular it was! Most evenings we saw our guests playing ping pong or fuseball or playing cards and chess together around the room, while other family members were out by the firepit roasting marshmallows.

For family reunions or groups travelling together the Gathering Spot is perfect. It is so easy to get together for meals – bring pot luck dishes from the cottage or set up barbecues and picnic tables out front along with the lobster/corn boiler. And the fun doesn’t stop with the meal…there’s nothing like a family ping pong tournament!
